Philippine Human Rights Act (H.R. 1433)
We are building a South Bay coalition of human rights defenders against militarism – for the lives in the Philippines and for all people. This means educating on past and current events in the Philippines, raising awareness of the PHRA, and facilitating opportunities for our communities can take action.
Combat Disinformation in Our Communities
Through ongoing community-building events, we aim to educate on Filipino history and share stories. We aim to support others in combatting disinformation, as well as reclaim the legacy of the Philippines – amplifying themes of Philippine sovereignty, democracy, and a better future for the Filipino people.
Malaya Means Free – a Community Zine Project
In the wake of blatant historical revisionism of Philippine history and the active rehabilitation efforts of the Marcos family’s reputation, Malaya South Bay is launching a zine that centers Philippine Martial Law survivors' stories, and the importance of sovereignty, truth, and people power.
